OPA Board Member-At-Large 

The members-at-large are responsible for attending Board meetings and conducting Board business.

Job Duties

  • Attend OPA Board meetings, participate in running the organization, and vote on motions.  Must attend a minimum of four Board meetings per year.

  • Complete short term projects as needed.

Education / Experience / Skills

  • This is one job where the unique skills of each member are a true asset.  

  • Some knowledge of OPA procedures is very helpful.

  • Willingness to get involved a must.

Special projects of previous Members at Large

  • Group buys, purchasing and packaging large quantities of materials for members.

  • Research into non-profit corporate budget procedures.

  • Ceramic Showcase storage space key coordinator.

  • Maintain the OPA equipment inventory. 

  • Show set-up at City Hall

  • OPA and Ceramic Showcase planning retreats.

  • Research forming an OPA Endowment Fund

  • Attended meetings for “Creative Capacity” held by Portland City Commissioner as a representative for OPA.

  • Organize the OPA show at the new Museum of Contemporary Craft 

  • Liaison members to Travel Portland.  

  • Assist in updating OPA bylaws

  • International program development
